A 34-year-old man comes to the audiology clinic saying his right ear has felt "plugged" for the past three weeks, ever since a bad head cold. Voices sound muffled and his own voice echoes hollowly inside his head; he catches himself swallowing and yawning over and over during the intake, trying to make the ear "pop."
