WhatsTheDx uses cookies and browser storage to keep the app working, remember preferences, protect accounts, and understand service performance. Browser storage can include cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies.

Some storage is necessary for the service to work. Optional analytics are only enabled on this site after you select "Accept" in the cookie prompt.

Necessary storage supports core features such as:

• Signing in and keeping account sessions secure.
• Remembering theme, tutorial, clinic intro, and cookie preference choices.
• Saving guest gameplay progress in your browser.
• Protecting checkout, account, and subscription flows.
• Keeping the site reliable, secure, and resistant to abuse.

Declining optional analytics does not disable necessary cookies or storage. Blocking necessary storage in your browser may prevent login, gameplay persistence, or subscription access from working correctly.

When you take an action our servers handle — submitting a guess, finishing a case, starting a checkout, completing a Clinical Brain review — we record that the action happened, and we set a cookie named wtdx_aid containing a random identifier. The identifier holds no personal information and is generated by us; it simply lets us tell one browser’s activity apart from another’s.

We do this to answer questions about our own product: which features people actually use, and what someone did before creating an account. If you later sign up, we associate that identifier with your account so the activity that preceded it is not counted as a separate person.

This is first-party only. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers, never used to build a profile of you, and never combined with data from other websites. The cookie is set only when you take one of those actions — browsing WhatsTheDx without playing sets nothing — and it cannot be read by scripts running in your browser.

Because this measures our own service rather than tracking you across the web, it is not part of the optional analytics choice below. You can remove the identifier at any time by clearing site data for WhatsTheDx in your browser, and you can ask us to delete the associated records using the contact details at the end of this notice.

If you accept optional analytics, WhatsTheDx may use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to understand page performance, broad usage patterns, and technical reliability. We use this information to improve load speed, navigation, and product quality.

If you decline optional analytics, the app stores that preference in your browser and does not load these analytics components from our site.

You can accept or decline optional analytics in the cookie prompt shown to first-time visitors. Your choice is stored locally in this browser.

To change your choice later, clear site data for WhatsTheDx in your browser settings and reload the site. Your browser may also provide controls for blocking cookies, deleting local storage, or limiting tracking technologies.
