A 24-year-old first-year law student is referred to the university health service by the counsellor. She has not eaten in the dining hall since the first term, takes every meal alone in her room with the door shut, and last month declined the moot-court dinner she had worked all year to earn a place at. She says she is fine, and would much rather talk about her exam timetable.
