A 26-year-old software tester who has played five-a-side football three times a week since school drives with the seat pushed further back than his height needs, has swapped a low sofa for a dining chair in the evenings, and stands up halfway through films. Getting out of a car after a long drive takes him a moment he did not used to need. It has been about eighteen months, gradual enough that he cannot date it, with no fall, no collision and no single match he can point to. His partner booked the appointment after watching him stand up from the sofa twice in one evening. He looks fit, lean and entirely well, and is slightly dismissive about the whole thing.
